The 2032 Olympics are predicted to provide long-term opportunities for Queensland.
Brisbane will host the 2032 Olympics; the Queensland Government aspire to create a lasting economic and environmental legacy that will continue to create benefits for the next 20 years. Hosting the Olympics and Paralympic Games is expected to generate $8 billion in economic and social benefits along with over 90,000 jobs. The Olympics will place Queensland in the global spotlight and produce around $4.6 billion from tourism and trade. The games provide an opportunity for major development, including a new arena, indoor sports centres, upgrading the Gabba, and competition hubs in regional centres. The construction of new venues will create jobs for Queenslanders, and the housing provided by the villages will assist in the growing population.
The Queensland Government believes community, tourism, trade, and local business opportunities will be accelerated and continue to benefit from Brisbane 2032. Regional areas including Toowoomba, Townsville, and Cairns will benefit from the games, with job creation and opportunities being created for those living in these regions. Queensland is expected to experience boosted employment opportunities, population growth, and an increase in housing demand.
